about me

hi! i'm jino, a third-year student at purdue university, majoring in industrial engineering with a minor in economics and a certificate in data science applications. i like analyzing data to make smart decisions with impact, which has led me to the high-stakes yet messy field of aviation.

at purdue, i explore the intersection of engineering and institutions, working with our liberal arts collaboratory in applying ML and big data to analyze the legislative process and its evolution over time.

my most recent work is with united airlines' transformation and process optimization team at newark liberty, leading analysis and improvements on station-wide processes. my last major project was a comprehensive analysis on cabin maintenance as a delay driver, especially when issues are reported late in the boarding process. previously, i helped architect process improvements for biometric boarding on international flights.

looking forward, i'm joining american airlines' airport performance analytics team out of dallas-fort worth airport.

on a more personal note, i'm an avid swimmer and traveler, a decent home chef, a tinkerer always thinking about their next project, and a curious reader who enjoys nonfiction literature.

my guilty pleasure, though, is gaming.

currently working on:

  • study on the impact of late-call cabin maintenance requests (within 15 mins of departure) on otp at ewr
  • a lightweight, dynamic CYOA text-based browser game satirizing the internship recruitment process
  • modeling the effects of nonpartisan primaries on donation behavior within state elections
